Micellar Vs Toner - What you need to know

Have you ever wondered what the difference between micellar water and toner is?

Well, wonder no more! We’re here to break down the differences between the two so you can make sure you’re using the right product for your skin.

Micellar waters are ideal for removing makeup that doesn’t require a wash, like little smudges around your eyes or lips. They’re also great to use on the go or after your workout if you don’t have time to wash your face. Micellar water is perfect for gentle cleansing that requires no rinsing.

The first micellar water was developed in Paris, where the tap water and pH level were harsh on skin. Women were looking for a way to cleanse their face without having to rinse it with tap water, so the concept of micellar water was born!

While micellar waters add a little hydration and do a great job cleaning off makeup, toners offer additional hydrating benefits and reset your skin’s pH level—but won’t remove any makeup.

If you're in a hurry, micellar water is the way to go. Just soak it in a cotton pad and swipe away. If you want to get all the icky stuff off your face, try an oil-based cleanser or a charcoal cleanser instead.

After you've cleansed, use a toner to hydrate your skin and reset its pH balance — and then add some prebiotic boost for good measure.

Prebiotic Boost Toner

What is toner?

Toners were used to remove any residue that washing your face with soap would leave behind. Toners were made with alcohol to help reset the pH of the skin after using soap, but this was super drying on the skin so we’ve moved on from that and started using floral waters such as chamomile, rose & orange water which are still hydrating but also smell amazing! Our Prebiotic Boost Toner not only has these in but has Aloe vera concentrate added in to really help revive the skin and make it glow!

It also has our Prebiotic Boost in it which is such an incredible skin saver, the Prebiotic Boost promotes a healthy bacteria growth on the skin whilst reducing any harmful bacteria’s, this then restores the natural balance back to the skin.

I like to use the Prebiotic boost after I cleanse my skin in the morning and evening. if you haven’t yet tried this amazing rejuvenating floral water, try yours now in our skincare starter box for just £10
